As I’d mentioned earlier, I’ve catalogued my DVD library (or, more accurately, the house DVD library — while the great majority of discs are mine, a few belong to housemates, though I’m blurry as to which). The collection is online here. I keep forgetting which DVDs I own, though I tend to remember the CDs, which seems odd, since I have several dozen times more CDs than DVDs.

The Gurulib tool/site worked quite well. It recognized all but a couple of the DVDs for which I scanned in the UPC codes, missing Eminem’s “The Slim Shady Show,” John Tavener’s “Fall and Resurrection,” and one or two others.

I was surprised at some that I didn’t find. I could have sworn that I had the official releases of Koyaanisqatsi (I have a limited edition release that was sent to people who donated to the movie’s fund a long time ago) and Powaqqatsi.

And in typing this, I realize that I lent three of my DVD to a chocolatier in the neighborhood, who shows classical music DVDs on a projection system in his shop.

And now to resist running amock getting the ones that I wish that I had…
