The cover graphic of the album (voices) by Comma features
three icons, representing the three large works on the CD:
- The Roman "a" against the background of a glowing sky
for Thomas Bickley's "angelorum"
- The Egyptian hieroglyph "ra" against the streets of a city at night
reflects the homage to William S. Burroughs's modern reworkings of
Egyptian myth in Matthew Ross Davis's "Sevenroughs"
- The Hebrew letter "shin" over calm waters represents
the evocation of Jewish religious and mystical motifs in Joseph Zitt's
"Carved with Breath".
The contents of the CD are also clearly represented by the cover
text. The background image was processed from an image of a slab of
grey slate, colored to best complement the colors of the text and
icons. The back cover photograph of Comma is by Harold Dorwin.
